Recently, I missed an opportunity to speak directly about the wage gap between BIPOC and white actresses, I would like to redress that. I was asked to comment on the wage disparity I had experienced at the top of my earning years as compared to male actors in a similar position. I mentioned the continuing lack of equity between the money earned by men and women. I was on a virtual round table on behalf of the Democratic congressional candidate from Florida, Margaret Good. I wish I had also spoken about the difference between the earning power of actresses of color and white ones. This topic cannot be stated and restated enough if we are to correct this injustice. I regret not making this point in support of the talented women whose opportunities and compensation still come last in our society. Women, all women, need to advocate for each other.
