'Freedom" used to mean a completely different thing before. Just a few years ago it meant not having any commitments, responsibilities, routines, or serious relationships. I was proud of my inability to commit I was showing off a chaotic lifestyle that had no plan, purpose, or direction. I felt free and I loved it. But freedom has nothing really to do with a flexible schedule, the ability to travel, having nowhere to be, nothing to do, and lack of any responsibilities. Now I understand that freedom is in detachment. It is not hard to feel free on the top of the mountain on your day off, but can you still feel free when you are busy when you care about achieving something when there are deadlines to meet when things you do are connected to your worth? Impossible! I have been practicing detaching myself from everything, from all the exciting things that are happening in my life, from all the bad stuff, and from all the upcoming projects and deadlines. Turned out, I don't need to be free from people and responsibilities, I need to be free from myself. Need to be free from voices inside my head, that still follows me even when I run away looking for "freedom". Turned out that traveling, and moving locations has nothing to do with true freedom, that this feeling can totally be achieved in your head even if you are paralyzed or locked up in a room. The real power, the real freedom comes from within, and from the power of our own minds. When did you truly feel free last time? Describe in the comments below.
