It’s been 2 years full of joy, hard work & passion but I’ve decided to leave Daytimers for now 💜When I received a dm on Instagram in July 2020, inviting me to join the team of a new South Asian collective, attempting to reignite the OG daytimers & Asian Underground movements, I never thought I would meet such talented, charismatic & kind people who I can now call my best friends💜 🇱🇰Daytimers came at a perfect time for me, when I was struggling to find a place for my northern mixed race Sri Lankan Tamil identity in the music scene and starting to explore the past movements of brown people in music ⚡️I feel privileged to have been able to champion a more inclusive music community, especially running our events up north and I will continue to do this work through @thebeatriarchy and my own events! 💜I’ve been doing music since I was 8 years old and it’s not until this past year I’ve felt like I’ve truly belonged in the scene, there’s a lot of work we still have to do but I’m proud to have been part of something amazing and it’s bitter sweet that I’ll be stepping away from the collective this way for now💜 📧I know I have been the point of contact for a lot of people regarding Daytimers up north so I ask respectfully that you contact Daytimers directly for Daytimers related enquiries but still feel free to reach out to me if you need connections/advice/if I can do anything to give you a helping hand! 😈I’ve got some huge things in store for the rest of the year, so watch this space!
