For most divers, a tiger shark can be one of the best dives ever, but it could get even better. . This was such a day. . After 2 dives for thresher sharks and seeing plenty of them, it was time for the most anticipated dive of the the day. Yes, the tiger shark dive! . All dives for the day went as planned. Calm turquoise blue water, a good 30 meter visibility, 5 thresher sharks and around 7 tiger sharks, all in all its considered an awsome day of diving. 3 minutes to the end, at 5 meters, the day's encounters with threshers & tiger sharks were quickly overshadowed. . A mighty whale shark, considered to be the gentle giants of the oceans, decided to grace us with her presence. But this beauty was far from gentle but surely a giant. . Usually after a 50-minute tiger dive at a depth of 6meters, sitting at a sandy bottom, anyone could end-up with 90 to 100 bar of air left in tank. This was the case for all of us. . However, those last minutes of the dive at 5 meter depth, we emptied it all swimming in circles, trying to stay as far as we could from this extremely curious whale shark. She thoroughly enjoyed chasing us for a good 10 minutes. It was fun and such a great moment but it was exhausting. One by one we surfaced from the safety stop with an empty tank. But she wasn't done! She kept swimming towards those at the surface as well, as if she was playing a tag game. We removed the dive gear and let it float on the surface to make it easier for us to swim around. . At this point we were beyond exhausted and looking for a break to catch our breath. Luckily, another group ended up at the same place for their safety stop after the tiger shark dive. This gave us the break to grab our gear, jump on to the boat and rest. . You may forget a dive trip, but moments like this remains with you forever. It is such memories that brings us back to the ocean. Moments like these are rare, but for something like this to happen, we need to give the ocean and its inhabitants a chance to survive and thrive.
