After six years, this week marks my final week as Head of Globe Studios/ @animamnl / @secretmenuph . I still haven’t processed it, it doesn’t feel real. Before this I’d never had a full time job in the Philippines, and all of a sudden it’s six years, 15 movies, 5 series, 3 film festivals, 18 podcasts and more than 500 branded videos later. When we started we were just 2, and now we’re 31. And the memories. Lav Diaz, @biancabalbuena and the cast of Ang Panahon ng Halimaw turning the Berlin Film Festival Press Con into an arena for protest. Looking around me at @danvillegas’s Hintayan ng Langit premiere and just seeing everyone cry. Barging into a conference room shouting "FIRST NETFLIX FILIPINO ORIGINAL FILM BABIES" to @jcaliro (and some random people they were meeting with who had no idea what we were talking about) right after @netflixph told me they wanted to make Dead Kids a Netflix original. Watching @tonetjadaone @fangirlmovie for the first time and being reminded why I decided to produce in the first place. Sitting in Gege’s pitch for Gaya sa Pelikula and just feeling the pride and love of everyone in that zoom room. Having Bong Joon fricking Ho drop everything just to sit in our table so he could talk to @erikmatti about On The Job. I’ve had the honor of watching the bright-eyed creative assistant @abielleremo turn not only into a formidable director, but a TikTok star. I witnessed @quinciferjones cautiously run his first set before turning into the in-demand powerhouse he is now. I've worked with former students like @heliumblade, @kev.mayuga and @jelisechungortigas and just been blown away by how much they've grown. There’s this thing i call the days. As in those were the days. As in the days of our lives. That time in your life when you’re fueled by pure passion, making things you’re proud of, working with people you love and admire, feeling that you’re actually . Those days for me were working with furball, and I thought those days were gone. I’m really happy I was wrong. It has been the greatest honor working with you, Globe Studios fam.
