Vogue Italia’s July 2008 issue is where fashion changed for me. The ALL black issue celebrated black models and black women in the worlds of art, politics and entertainment. It’s difficult to overstate what a visceral and cultural impact the Black Issue had on readers especially African-Americans. Four separate covers were shot for the Black Issue with the most popular black supermodels of the day shot by @stevenmeisel_ and styled by @edward_enninful : @naomi , @liyakebede , @jourdandunn and @therealsessilee . . @deantirkot took these incredible photos and made me feel like I had spread in this issue.
