Here’s to many more to come...! - - - A-COLD-WALL*'s first concept store, Beijing. Expanding upon the principles of British Modernist Architecture, the concept store located in Beijing's prestigious Taikoo Li Sanlitun shopping district, delivers an experimental retail proposition to the region. Designed and pioneered by the A-COLD-WALL* Industrial Design Team and founder Dr Samuel Ross, the concept store continues the legacy of British architects and industrial masters like Rogers, Dyson and Luder. Recontextualising the characteristic of a truss, exaggerated to take sculptural rather than structural form, the exposed framework constructs a screen between the acts of viewing and interacting, imposing engagement with the structure to reach the garments. The ACW* Primary Volt Blue that encompasses the vessel takes directly from the industrial colour palette, referenced throughout the house's output. The concept store reflects Samuel Ross' conversation with global geographies, with additional spaces currently being developed.
