Ok, so let me tell y’all about last weekend in D.C.! 👋🏾😌🎶... What I thought was gonna be a quiet, chill Saturday in Ft. Washington, MD before a mini fam vaycay to the Poconos, ended up resulting in a complimentary invite to the first annual #HipHopBlockParty at the @nmaahc — S/O to my new fave @lisalake17 for the plug!🔌 🙌🏾 I’d been waiting for YEARS to go to #NAAMHC, and it was life-changing as expected. I cried three times throughout the Slavery Exhibit (which you’ll see if you keep swiping 😅🥲), but in all honesty it truly puts into perspective our history as Black people and how we will ALWAYS persevere when faced with adversity. The art was phenomenal — literally obsessed with the dual pieces “Confrontation 28A” & “Confrontation 28AA” (1966) by #MertonSimpson 🎨🖤 — the performances were amazing, from the OG @bunb and his GOATed sign language translator to @dsmoke7 breaking it down in bilingual with an epic headlining set, and overall I was just filled with joy the entire time...especially witnessing the pure brotherhood between my cousin and his bestie 🤞🏾Thanks again for letting me borrow your sweater and shorts since mine were in the dryer, cuz...🤧🤣 ...can’t wait until next year! © #higz
