Both leading Erics have taken credit for the endorsement, with Greitens – a known abuser – claiming to be the “only” candidate endorsed by the former president. The Missouri primary takes place today. Eric Greitens is the state’s former governor who resigned in disgrace after credible allegations of sexual misconduct. Greiten’s ex-wife has also accused him of physically abusing their family and “unstable and coercive” behavior. Eric Schmitt is Missouri’s Republican State Attorney General.
