TL: DR; MP1 is out! We got to make these songs with and alongside some of my favourite people who I love and admire. “Outdoor Pool” and “Love Him I Don’t” with @thebonfires (peep Jon’s pipes on the oohs of LHID), “Hollow” with @teddysphotos and @jmd_snowpatrol, “Boy” with @teddysphotos, and Tough Act with the incomparable @frances_music. Kirsty Mangan (@krustyroobag) is the genius behind the string arrangements on Hollow and Tough Act. Hollow was so last minute that Kirsty tracked and layered them up in her bedroom like a boss. We recorded all over the place, but specifically: YSUFT @decoysound (with @robertsellens) and @livingston_studios (with @lukefarnell and @tris_ellis), and Tough Act @thepoolstudio with @benloveland_. @iamjameswyatt tickled the piano on Tough Act. @mattglasbey, my actual 5th limb, engineered and kept the whole thing together over the last year or so. The legends @afterhrs_ helped us get Boy over the line, and @jimestack added some choice sprinkles on I’m Trying. @dan_grech_ mixed YSUFT, I’m Trying, Outdoor Pool, LHID, and Tough Act, and @markspikestent mixed Boy and Hollow. Thank you both for your supreme ears, and patience! @samuels_paul @brionymturner and @gracegoddard steered the ship, @craigshardlow and @shepherdgeorge put up with my tantrums, and @jen.double supported me whilst having to listen to 20 versions of each song. Finally, @maisiehpeters; thank you for your trust, for being the best writer in the room, and for always striving for the song to be the best it can be.
