One year ago today, we denounced @Chevron’s contamination of the Amazon with 16 billion gallons of oil and the legal persecution (corporate prosecution) of human rights attorney @StevenDonziger who fought against them and went to prison on this day. In 2010, Donziger helped win a historic $9.5 billion judgment in favor of Indigenous and rural plaintiffs in Ecuador, affected by the oil pollution caused by Chevron, in the Lago Agrio oil field case. To this day, @Chevron has paid $0 and still hasn’t cleaned up. #ProtecttheEarth #ProtectProtectors
