Additional foundational movements for “The Basics” program. The Lunge -a unilateral variation. Still knee dominate. -emphasis on balance and coordination. -very similar to how we walk and run. The Carry -core work. There’s a bracing component. -tremendous for the grip, forearms, and shoulders as well. -once you pick things up, you may have to carry them. Suit case, bags, small human. The Rotation -work in the transverse plane. Great for the competing athlete. -there is a disassociation between the upper and lower body. -it starts at the hips. Like the others, these movements are easy to understand. Variation and advancement can always be added. However, gain competence with each pattern listed here first. Simple, boring, mundane. Repeated time and time again. How else would you get better at it?
