🏆 The award for most creative commencement photo shoot goes [email protected]! Jaylen was recently named the winner of @uofcalifornia’s graduation photo contest! To celebrate his graduation, Jaylen took photos on the Anteater Express bus that he operated for 3 years! The images were taken by @shotbyzeem Jaylen shared the following reflection with @uofcalifornia: “Growing up, I was always interested in alternative forms of energy. Learning about the many negative effects of fossil fuels motivated me to make a change. I decided to focus directly on transportation research, specifically in Southern California. I wanted to learn more about decreasing our consumption of fossil fuels via electricity or hydrogen powered vehicles. The Anteater Express is a campus-wide, electric powered transportation system made to connect off campus housing to the campus of UC Irvine. While occupying a position as a bus operator for the Anteater Express at UC Irvine for the past 3 years I learned a wealth of knowledge about how to successfully run a transportation system and also the major impacts of alternative energy environmentally and socially. I loved being able to gain knowledge while also transporting my peers to and from campus.
