Grateful to have a piece published for @them’s Queer Wrath Month. Link in bio.
This short essay is the ways I’m learning to hold and listen to my anger. In the past few years of experiencing cycles of disasters collapsing into injustices, I’ve been more comfortable tending to my grief or numbness than anger. This essay asks why.
When anger arises, I’ve often quickly dismissed for more “important” or “healing” emotions. There’s an intersection here with the way anger is racialized and gendered, and the structural and interpersonal ways anger from Black communities, especially Black queer, women, trans and/or femme communities) is targeted for dismissal.
Thanks for reading if you do. 💌 Many thanks to @shuhua.xiong for her beautiful artwork that accompanied the piece.
