I think about 2017 a lot lately. Just how unrecognizable my life was only 5 years ago compared to now. ..Is 5 years long? because it doesn't feel like it. But it's crazy that in 2017, @bopomofocafe was still 2 years from opening and @asianbossgirl hadn't even launched yet– our two current businesses were far from being remotely realized. @wongfupro’s “Yappie” was 1 year away, along with “Crazy Rich Asians” which completely transformed my industry and professional landscape. @hwuwu and I still had 2 years before getting engaged, and we had no idea a son would be 2 years after that, delayed by a world-altering pandemic. Sheesh. I think back to 2017 because in comparison, it seems like that was a really peaceful time for us.. where we could just be us, it’s like a mental vacation 💆🏻‍♂️ They say years feel shorter as you get older, and I guess that's what this post is about. Life can drastically change in a relatively short period of time.. how much is gonna change in another 5 years? Also, just feeling particularly nostalgic as Helen's across an ocean for work, again!
