Closing tomorrow, September 18, "The Clamor of Ornament" explores ornament in architecture, art, and design through the lens of drawing. The exhibition brings together more than 200 objects from across the globe and features a broad range of drawings, prints, books, textiles, and photographs dating from the fifteenth century to the present. The unique design of the exhibition, conceived and expertly deployed by the London-based design firm @studiofrith, reflects the exhibition hypothesis that ornament is a mode of communication, a form of currency, and a means of exchange across geographies and cultures. Integral to their designs are the boldly color walls featured throughout the exhibition. The unique paint colors, produced by @plainenglishdesign and evocatively named Rice Pudding, Boiled Egg, and Jam, eradicate the standard white cube gallery and make the presentation as ornamental as the works on view. Don't miss out on seeing the unique exhibition design, featuring more than 200 objects. "The Clamor of Ornament" closes tomorrow, Sunday, September 18, and we're hosting special extended hours tonight, 9/17 from 6-8pm in celebration of the exhibition's final days.
