Over two years ago, I decided I would start my own business. I had no idea where to begin or what I needed, or how much, but it became my top priority to figure it out. I started with buying fabric, making samples and even shooting a look book in Palm Springs. But then Covid hit, and the world shifted. I lost my investor, and dropping a swimwear line when people could barely travel didn’t seem like the best idea at the time. Then my best friend called me one day and said, “why don’t you just drop one?” At first, I said no way! My ego wanted to start big. The dream in my head wanted to drop an entire collection from the jump, but after realizing that goal wasn’t realistic, I decided to do what I hate doing. Listen to the advice of others. Releasing one style at a time makes the most sense for a one women show (and my bank account). It also gives me space to grow and learn as time goes on. My top priority for Skye Jordan was to make swimsuits for Everyone. I wanted to create a brand for people that are confident in their skin when the world tells them not to be.
