To be transparent, I’ve been struggling with my mental and physical health after the Music Industry Review report, my BIGSOUND keynote and performances and then straight into advising the National Cultural Policy for the government all in 3 weeks. I told my story so people can understand that I am just one human and I am passionate about art and music. That I am more than my advocacy, I am an artist too. It has been so hard to hear and experience all the systemic issues that still blatantly goes on despite the awareness we’ve been able to bring about. I am not the HR department for an entire music industry. I am exhausted, I am breaking and I am begging everyone, especially our industry leaders, to prioritise education and change. I also wanted to take a moment to thank the generous group of creatives around me that made my keynote possible. Without you, I would’ve crumbled and you all made it easier for me to continue choosing to fight.
