Uluwatu’s Padang Padang Beach is at the bottom of a winding 200 step staircase of a mountain temple. Waves were on average 2-4 ft with head high sets rolling in at the end of each set. Long boarding works best on the high tide. The take off is a bit fast but manageable after a few attempts. There’s an extremely strong current that rips towards the cliff sides. It’s exhausting to paddle for waves as a result but does help float you back towards the line-up effortlessly. Local surf coach @saparseven guided me to the right sections of the wave, kept me safe, & most of all kept the stoke high with his HUGE smile and infectious laugh! My new friends @_yanto__ & @rubyannw howled & hooted for each other on every wave!
