I’ve been missing ice climbing something fierce for the least couple weeks. Conditions on some of my goal routes have been suboptimal so far this season, more covered in snow than ice. . . Reminiscing over my super fun ice season in ouray this winter. stoked to get back there in the fall! . . This video is from one of my favorite pitches of ice to climb: the third pitch on Whorehouse Hoses. This winter it formed with some super fun cauliflower ice formations on the upper half. . . You might notice a skinny rope dragging up the wall underneath me. I’ll do this on occasion if I’m going up a single pitch of ice, instead of carrying the full weight on my back.
