“Sea Wolf” / As beautiful as they are elusive, the sea wolves of British Columbia are unlike any other wolf on the planet. A distinct population from their inland cousins, sea wolves have the ability to swim miles between the many islands along the BC coast, moving like phantoms across the shore and sea. Though coming across a sea wolf is a rare occurrence, encountering one along the wild Pacific coast is not something you are likely to ever forget. This breath-catching moment came about only after I had spent hours tucked away in a hide, waiting patiently to catch even just a glimpse of this secretive canine.
