This morning amongst powerful Black women leaders I reflected on my journey. I know I am in this position for a reason. I know that times like these require people like me to speak boldly and move with care. I might be one of “the firsts” in my role @seiu_org but I know I can’t be the last. Our Justice Journey brought me to New Orleans and we are still here for #EssenceFest to bring the spirit of #SolidaritySummer to this space. From the passing of the BIG UGLY BILL to the Trump administration’s unrelenting attacks on immigrants our fight isn’t going to be easy— but it never was.
