Skönhetslidelse - Beauty’s suffering « Gawp » 👁 — Here it was, a weird creature, inert amongst the seaweeds It looked as defensless as a newborn, probably tired from all the journey it had been through to end up there Were those last moments of energy, spent heading to this island, worthy of anything ? It began to look up, waiting for a gesture, a demonstration of kindness that would break the ice between them two Its stare was kind yet full of doubts, you could see its warm light shimmer but widely surrounded by deep abyss — This serie was inspired by the term « Skönhetslidelse » or « Beauty’s suffering » that I read in Evert Lindfors’s book. He depicts this sensation almost as a disease, an inner feeling calling you to reach true beauty through your art. But since perfection can’t be achieved, it represents the journey you’ll take to fail repeatedly at creating your visions and how to embrace it, finding beauty along the way.
