Ingredients matter more than claims especially “Keto”, which just means junk ingredients and fake sweeteners leading to overeating. Every diet trend is a food marketers’ dream and they happen over and over again. Who remembers the Atkins diet? Well in the world of packaged food, Atkins has evolved into Keto across the entire grocery store. Same junk ingredients with some new name fake sweeteners. Started as sucralose then became stevia and now erythritol or allulose. Non nutritive sweeteners only serve one function. Sweet taste. But when your body tastes sweet but doesn’t get glucose it keeps hitting the more button leading to overeating. For packaged food, it’s a big deal because you are most likely overeating ultra-processed starch, inflammatory seed oils, and other gut disrupting food-like substances. Fad diets come and go but real food is forever. Ingredients matter. 👏
