The Winter Shelter Program, which is run by the Los Angeles Homeless Service Authority (LAHSA), provides low-barrier, safe, and supportive emergency shelters for individuals experiencing homelessness during severe cold and wet weather conditions (between November 1, 2022, and March 31, 2023, specifically). The program operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and is meant to protect individuals from contracting hypothermia, pneumonia, and any medical or health-related conditions induced by extreme cold and wet weather.
