WAKING UP ON THE RIVER KWAI . We took a 3 hour drive outside of Bangkok to the calmness and freshness of the mountains around the river Kwai. Floating villas upon pontoons that overlooked the river was home for the night, with a foggy fresh start to the tail end of our trip... . We got here with a local driver. The drive was pleasant with plenty of stops, food and clean toilets if needed along the way. We both thought one night was enough for us, but if you’re after total relaxation you could stretch that. The resort @thefloathouseriverkwai offered several activities, and their restaurant was pretty good too.
