Human beings by nature like to know what to expect. This means that every appointment your client has with you they want to have the same experience. This is what breeds retention, or client longevity. If you are thorough every time, you will rebook your clients every time. Here are my top 2 questions to ask in a consultation with both new and current clients alike: 1) “Realistically in a one year period of time how often would you like to get your hair colored?” ( Asking this allows you to create a solid plan for them. For example, should the client come back and say twice a year, yet their desired end result is a heavy full foil... this gives you the opportunity to manage your clients expectations of the GROW OUT. You can let them know that at twice a year they will have a harsh demarcation when their hair grows out. However, should they wish for a smoother grow out you would suggest a more lived in blonde.) 2) “First I want to identify TONE and then I want to identify placement .. do you know what I mean when I say tone? Tone means are you attracted to warmth, cool or beige. Do you know what I mean when I say placement? Placement means how high up would you like the dimension and do you want a BOLD face frame or a SOFT face frame? We want to step away from saying MONEY PIECE to our clients because they may have had a bad experience with too chunky or improperly placed foils. I prefer SOFT and BOLD face frame because it’s an easy to translate visual term. Like the way I teach? January 30th PHILADELPHIA, PA -LINK IN BIO!
