Patrick Demarchelier was a great influence on many photographers and coworkers. i met him in 1992 and lit commercials and photographs with him until i started primarily working on films. shooting with him in st barth’s at his infinity pool was him at his most relaxed and also some of his most stunning images. many of my favorite coworkers began their careers with him as i did. there are lots of stories, mine are of an inspired imagemaker that showed me kindness and the joy of life. one of my favorite memories was on the night of the turn of the 21st century in st. barth’s driving down the beautiful overlook to gustavia, in a convertible cadillac he shared champagne with a joy of life that was infectious. rest in peace dear patrick. @patrickdemarchelier @nadjaauermann @patmcgrathreal @garrennewyork #geralddearing @fabienbaron #michealyce #stbarthelemy #washingmachinebeach
