During the pandemic, @queenstheatre commissioned a play I pitched to them in response to seeing Slave Play. The exercise was to explore race relations without harming Black women, but instead granting them literal superpowers in a comedy. This week @thefrontporcharts , a Black owned theater company in Boston, has afforded me the gift of adding sound to our supernatural world. @epakchar built an incredible score, with Brendan Doyle’s incredible sound plus @tinashekajesebolden, who came all the way from ATL to lead the troops into battle. I'll see C & B open at The Porch this afternoon and Invisible read this evening. I'm beyond grateful to have found a community that understands and celebrates my work for what it is, and I'm thrilled for every future possibility.
