I’d like to introduce you to my new friend Gibbs the Ginko! #treehugger #plantingtrees #earthday These little guys originate from China where scientists discovered only one single patch of prehistoric trees. That one patch has produced every Ginko since! Ginko’s are highly regarded for their medicinal properties and turn a beautiful golden yellow color in the Fall. This particular tree is named after renowned scientist Josiah Willard Gibbs! I am also honored to announce that I will be moving forward as the Vice President of Student Members of the American Chemical Society. SMACS has grown 4x its original size and has officially made a lasting impact on our campus. Congratulations to everyone who participated in our tree planting today.
