I had the honour of meeting and listen to the stories of Greenlandic Inuit, hunter and owner of sled dog centre @arcticliving3952 Ane Sofie Lauritzen @ansolauritzen and her husband Flemming Lauritzen. 🐶 How #climatechange is trickling down to the very fabric of being of many indigenous communities around the world is simply put a social and #environmentalcrime 🤬 Over the last 10 years Greenland has seen a reduction of the sled dog population by 50%, just now shy of 19,000 beautiful souls and beings. 🐶 This is caused both by the increased use of the snowmobile to replace the tasks of the dogs. 👈🏻 The melting of the ice sheet caused by #globalwarming has reduced the hunting season by a couple of months and therefore millennia of history and heritage is being made redundant 🛷😢 We have the resilience, passion and love of people like Ane Sofie and Flemming to thank if we are to have a chance of keeping alive crucial pieces of information and parts of our planet for the continuation of life as we know it. 💔 📷 @giuliafrigieriphoto #climateemergency #climateaction #climatecrisis #actnow #ilulissat #greenland #climateanxiety
