Posted @withregram • @meredithsalenger It is incumbent upon all of us to make sure that our friends and family and communities are aware of the impact of decisions that our elected leaders make. The supreme court was not elected. The current supreme court was packed and pushed through with political aims of ending women’s right to choose, to keep women in poverty, to keep them uneducated, to keep them from voting, In essence to keep the patriarchy in power. When you ban educating people by purporting ridiculous “theories” like a “critical race theory” which you all must know is simply history. When you put restrictive voting laws, when you do not provide universal healthcare, when you do not give education a priority, it leads to the greater division of society. And the greater the division the more inequity & inequality - and ultimately more power to the white rich patriarchy. It is a fact. The question is why are they doing this? This is not democracy. This is becoming a more and more fascist society. And while that sounds hyperbolic, just look around. Guns have more rights than women. While guns are the leading cause of death for children in America there is literally no attempt to lessen access by the Republicans. It is not about being pro life for them. It is about power. Women, people of color, any religion other than that of the white Christian male, sexual identity, choice... it is all under attack. Overturning Roe v Wade has been on the Republican docket for years and years. And not because they are good Christians who care about life. Let’s be clear about that. Do not let them fool you. And do not stop fighting for your rights. It is incumbent upon all of you to make sure everyone in your circle votes and has a plan to vote. That is your task. There is nothing more important. Get out the vote. Fight. Stay Strong. #VoteBlue
