This legendary blue Issey Miyake bodice [ Autumn/ Winter 1980-1981] came walking through our door one fateful day, looking for a new home. The owner was once a professor at Parsons School of Design, “It is an extraordinary piece that has resided on lower Beachwood for the past 21+ years, as well as Gramercy Park and Staten Island neighborhoods. It has also inspired hundreds of students that got to see, touch, and draw an iconic piece, along with many of the pieces that we had/have here. It has never been worn outside of an apartment or classroom. It is time for its new life.” He told us. Once we were able to scrape our jaws off of the floor, we welcomed the piece to its new home. The bodice will not be for sale, we are just here to celebrate it 💙
