Laura Decher, a Customer Sales Support Specialist at Tandem, loves working with people living with type 1 diabetes because she understands how challenging it can be to manage a chronic condition. Seven years ago, she was diagnosed with a rare autoimmune disease that left her wheelchair-bound and extremely ill for a time. Now feeling healthy, the experience continues to foster the empathy she shows in her work at Tandem. “I know firsthand what it’s like to yearn for health-and-life balance that a lot of people take for granted,” Laura said. “That’s the main reason I love what I do. Every time I process an order, I feel like I’m doing a small part in improving someone’s life.” Laura is also a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion advocate, so she especially appreciates that Tandem creates an environment that encourages innovation and alliance among people with different backgrounds.
