In blinded ratings of 45-minute text-based CBT sessions (psychiatrist vs. ChatGPT-3.5, same case; 75 reviewers): • 43% rated the human “very skillful” vs 16% for ChatGPT • 52% said the human set a focused agenda vs 28% for ChatGPT • 36% felt the human understood the patient’s inner world vs 19% for ChatGPT Reviewers said ChatGPT felt more generic and missed follow-ups, though it did deliver structured CBT techniques.
