SPEED and LIGHT: A few months ago, @leica_camera_aus approached me with an opportunity to collaborate with McLaren Automotive and to create and exclusive photographic collection, which is now being exhibited in both Melbourne and Sydney Leica galleries. On the surface, the idea of shooting the pinnacle of automotive craftsmanship using cameras that have defined a century of photographic excellence was exciting in itself. When you couple that with the history of both brands it led to many nights deep diving into articles + movies to get inspired. Two words kept ringing in my head. Speed and Light. Its no coincidence that these are the ingredients of the physics of light and photography whilst also defining 61 years of automotive achievement. The series is a celebration of structural form, feminine fluidity and Artistry. It explores the dynamic relationship of these elements with the natural world and light. What inspired what? It’s a chicken and egg question and it’s my hope that this series of photographs explores that space in between. Teamwork is everything, and this body of work brought together a collaboration between some incredibly talented artists. The vision and execution of these pieces is the culmination of all of these brilliant people. We all felt free to do what’s most important... create. I want to thank my muse and creative collaborator @georgemapleofficial working with you feels so fluid and natural. You cultivate a space that encourages me to explore and experiment. On a personal note, this is my first exhibition ever, something that I have been aiming for for a long time and to be able to do it with these two brands has inspired me beyond measure. @mclarenauto Your legacy inspires me. @leica_camera_aus your craftsmanship enables me.
