Honored to receive the Studio Photography Award at @abbeyroadstudios with this image of @pinksiifu from April 2021. ⁣⁣ My boy @mez.heirs said it looks like one of those posters that used to come tucked inside a magazine back in the day. Had me reflecting on my teenage years when my bedroom was covered in magazine pages and posters. Skate mags, music mags, DVD and CD inserts, album packaging... these were all my early sources of visual inspiration. My mind was steeped in this style of imagery as a kid and I still reference it in my work now. ⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ The award is dedicated to my dad who passed a few years ago. His favorite band was the Beatles, and he’s also the reason why I’ve always had a camera on me - my journey with photography began when I found one of his cameras as a little kid. Back then I would steal his fisheye lenses and his Beatles albums, now twenty years later I’m standing in the room where those albums were recorded.
