Let’s talk about how much you might be spending to see the surreal Salar de Uyuni, because a bunch of you asked how we did it as a day trip from La Paz! 🧂 We took an overnight bus from La Paz to Uyuni, which took about 9 hours. We booked the lie-flat seat option. It was comfy enough for the price and came with pillow, blanket, bottled water, wifi onboard, toilets, dinner and a breakfast. We arrived in Uyuni around 7:30 AM. You can join a tour group or like what we did, book a full day private salt flats tour that ran from 10:30 AM to almost 8:00 PM. They picked us up at the bus station. The tour included stops at the train graveyard, Colchani village, salt mounds, Incahuasi Island, and of course the stunning mirror effect at the salt flats. The tour also included lunch, an afternoon picnic, bikes and an English-speaking guide. Also the boots in the salt flats! After the tour, we headed straight to the bus terminal and took another overnight bus back to La Paz — yes, it was a long day, but 100% worth it for that magic hour glow over the salt flats. ✨ You can also opt to stay in Uyuni for a night or two but we just didn't have the time to do it. All in all, we spent about $213 per person for the day trip, including both bus rides, the tour, and snacks. If you’re short on time but want to squeeze in Salar de Uyuni, this is a way to do it without staying overnight in town! You can save even more if you join a group tour and there are buses that starts at $16 one way! Let me know if you want the exact tour company or tips for surviving the back-to-back bus rides! 😅 Comment BUS for the link to the ones we booked! Still can’t believe this place is real! 🥹 #bolivia #bolivia🇧🇴 #uyuni #uyunibolivia🇧🇴 #traveltipsandhacks #travelguide
