It all hit me after mile 20. They say that’s when you “hit the wall” and they’re right. Those last miles nearly broke me. I wanted nothing more than for my kids to see me cross that finish line. But even without them there, I dug deep, pushed through the pain, and made it to the end. I learned this the hard way: The marathon doesn’t owe you anything. You can give it everything - your time, your heart, your body and still, it owes you nothing. Because the real reward isn’t the medal.
