The body is wild the closer and closer you get to being “stage lean.” You may look at this and think, 7 DAYS!?🤯 But if there is one thing I have learned as a coach and an athlete myself is that the body can truly change rapidly the closer and closer you truly get to being stage lean. Muscle fullness/flatness can change daily depending upon the protocol. . What did we change within this span of time to yield such a drastic difference?🤔 ▪️We prioritized recovery and extra foam rolling specifically. Oftentimes, if the lower body is TOO inflamed, it can kind of “fuzzy” out the muscle definition. ▪️We PUSHED. We pushed macros (specifically carbs) down a bit and amped up cardio. (All cardio was STEADY STATE). **the middle pic indicates the look after a week of “pushing.” ▪️Then, we had a REFEED. In other terms, we had a HIGH carb day eating about 80 extra grams of carbs. **the third picture is a reflection of the morning after this high carb day. . Note that the glutes look slightly “flat” in the middle after a consecutive week of “pushing.” However, after one strategic refeed day, they look way fuller! Think of the muscle bellies as a balloon 🎈. When they’re depleted of carbs for too long, they may appear a little “deflated.” But, after a strategic refeed, those carbs essentially work to fill out or “inflate” those muscle bellies.
