Waves For Water community! ​ ​A massive typhoon (Odette) just slammed the Philippines. It is being measured to the 2013 super typhoon, Haiyan, which we worked and can say was one of the most catastrophic events we’ve seen. If Odette is the same, we are in for a long road to recovery. ​ ​These events and the loss that comes along with them is unfathomable. @wavesforwaterphilippines has launched a full scale response and is doing incredible work as we speak. The following slides from team W4WPH shows the severity and just how widespread the damage is. ​​ ​​We are all quite desensitized these days with everything that’s going on in the world but that doesn’t mean these events aren’t still happening. In fact, they need even more attention now than ever. Unfortunately the US news cycle could care less, so it is up to organizations like us to share and report what’s truly happening on the ground.
