Homemade Chocolate Recipe BELOW 🍫 @foodbazaarsupermarket’s LIC location carries Cacao Pods and this at-home chocolate making process is a rewarding one! The aroma of roasted cacao beans/nibs is magical, and your homemade chocolate will be delicious! Here’s what you’ll need to make one bar of chocolate! Ingredients: 2 Cacao Pods 1 tsp Powdered Sugar (more if you like sweeter chocolate) 2 tsp Coconut Oil Steps: 1. Carve open Cacao Pods and take out and separate the beans. 2. Store the beans in a closed mason jar. You’ll want to keep your mason jar in a temperature-controlled area (70-85 degrees). I kept my jar in a dark corner of my apartment (away from the heater). 3. Ferment the beans for 7 days while stirring the beans twice a day to make sure they ferment evenly. 4. After 7 days, take out the beans and separate them on a baking tray. By this point, the beans should have a very “alcoholic” chocolatey smell. 5. Preheat your oven to 275 degrees. Roast your beans to your desired roast (I recommend 45 minutes). 6. Crack and separate the roasted cacao bean shells from the nibs. 7. Grind the nibs into a fine powder and then add coconut oil and sugar. Then, continue grinding until the nibs have turned into a chocolatey paste. 8. Spread the paste into your chocolate mold and put it in the freezer for 30 mins. 9. After 30 minutes, your chocolate should be ready to eat! I’ve had a lot of trouble finding Cacao Pods in the past so definitely visit Food Bazaar (📍42-02 Northern Blvd, Queens, NY)! Enjoy!
