#SanFelipe250 photo dump. What. A. Week. Actually what a month. Ended up tackling 2 full preps after KOH, as the new to us prerunner was in dire need of some love. Many, many late nights involved and some invaluable extra set of hands there at the end made this all even possible. Come race week, we headed down to begin prerunning! A shock hose failure put us down and out our first day of prerunning. But quickly got that fixed and got hundreds of miles of great prerunning in! Fast forward to qualifying. On the way to qualifying, it was made aware that we were still battling a steer over temp issue, even after changing out the servo. So we qualified with 330° steering temps...got back to the house, swapped on a new steer pump and then found a loose pin in the steering cooler fan. Issue fixed. BUT while road testing the steering fix, lost reverse band in the transmission! Todd and the @terribleherbstmotorsports boys were so gracious and let us borrow their spare transmission. I get the trans in, all is good. Leave the house to head to tech, go to shift into 3rd, bam 1st gear! The “new” spare trans has a standard valve body in it, we run a reverse valve body...turn around and head back to the house. Drop the trans pan and swap valve bodies at 6:30pm the night before the race. Road test the new set up about 2 miles through Pete’s Camp. Haha. Finally race ready. We obviously wanted the win, but after all the trials and tribulations, a finish is a win in my book. And to finish with a podium spot is even sweeter. Back to the shop to regroup and hit the next even harder! Thank you so much to everyone who made this all possible, and everyone who came to support us!
