I remember having $2.19 in my bank account with hardly ANY work coming my way at all, and having nothing but God's grace, Brown Sugar (my cello), and the car I slept in that was full of everything I owned. And it was by God's amazing grace that I was able to get to where I am now. I'm convinced my calling is to impact lives through the things I'm passionate about. I've pushed/convinced friends to quit jobs to go chase their passions and I will continue to push that as long as I have a pulse. Yall see pictures of me with my instrument all the time but have no idea that because I chose to be a full-time artist, THAT bigass piece of wood has fed me when I didn't know if I'd be able to eat some days, and put a roof over my head when I could've been out on the streets. In no way do I want to talk down on anybody who has chosen a paycheck over true happiness (especially those with families to support), but speaking only for myself, I didn't come this far to go back to living a life of just "comfort"... I lived that life and I was only happy on paydays. What kind of life is that where I'm only happy on the 2 days a month that I get paid?? I say all of this to leave you with one message: if you have a fire burning inside of you to do something, don't let fear hold you back from pursuing that passion, because while it may be very tough at times, you WILL come out on top if you consistently put the work in.
