Happy new year! I haven't really been going out for drinks but had to make an exception to check out @chrisenns new menu @bartholomew_bar. The list is extensive and there is a cocktail for every palate, but *especially* so if you are an Old Fashioned lover. The 'Old Fashioned World Tour' interprets the 3-ingredient classic with flavours representative of different countries (think France OF sweetened with champagne cordial, Japan OF garnished with Pocky stick and Mexico OF made with tequila, mezcal and cacao). I opted for Scotland, which featured the Singleton of Dufftown, Johnny Walker Black, honey, Apothecary smoky pear bitters, lemon and essence of Islay. Also sampled were Prince Edward: Talisker 10, Lillet, Drambuie and orange bitters. Breakfast in Bed: Cinnamon Toast Crunch-infused Bulleit bourbon, cognac, maple and brown butter-banana bitters. Coconut Mai Tai: Bacardi Superior, Cointreau, Orgeat, tart coconut water & coconut oil, Angostura float. It's a huge credit to the team that they were able to create a safe bar experience that also felt... normal! Looking forward to returning.
