Making Art in a new place ❤️ As I drank my morning coffee and looked out over the mountains I thought of you. I did some performance art at @lunga.festival yesterday in Iceland. Some friends of mine packed up a car with an electric organ and lighter fluid. We drove there on a whim with the desire to create and destroy: to make some weird music and light this old organ on fire by the sea. I love making art like that. No ego, no expectation, just the desire to share an experience and feel something. I performed a text I wrote in the car mixing positive affirmations (I made the crowd hug each other and yell « I AM GLOWING WITH SELF LOVE » lmao) and screaming sad girl shit into a megaphone (classic me). And yeah I thought of you fellow Art angels. I thought of you because I think a lot of times we forget that we have nothing to prove. That creating is our birth right, just like breathing. And you don’t have to be good to try. This is just something you did in this moment in time. Your efforts (good or bad) don’t define you, just like what you had for breakfast 2 weeks ago is long forgotten.
