I grew up with all boys, and proudly called myself a “tomboy” as a kid. This feels completely at odds with who I am now, and the career path I’ve chosen. I geek out about shoes and purses, but can chop wood and start a fire just like the rest of ‘em. I used to worry that this made me inauthentic - that one side of me wasn’t truly being “me” - but then I realized that’s not how it works.
