I took this photo exactly a year ago today. It was our first Christmas without my mom. My dad‘s first Christmas without her in 61 years and mine and 38 years. Even though there’s definitely an empty space where her dry sense of humor and sweet laugh sat at the table, I feel good in knowing that my mother is at peace and that it’s ok to let go. It’s a part of life. Every single human being on this earth will experience this. It’s hard to remember that, when you live your daily life, but it’s one of life‘s most important lessons, letting go. My mom‘s passing invited me to prayer every day. And every day I pray for my family and friends, the health of the planet and all its plants and animals, all living and non living things, those souls in transition of life to death and what I’m grateful for. Rather than asking for gifts I just want to give back gratitude during this time. Cherish and love your family and friends, the world we live in and most importantly be good to yourself.
