Just Do It. One of the most iconic and memorable brand taglines ever. And it’s ironic that the power of that line not only speaks to our ability to perform athletically but our ability to act with purpose. So proud to take the Big Brothers Big Sisters of America’s CEO Tour to Portland, Oregon to Nike’s headquarters with Big Brothers Big Sisters Columbia Northwest for a powerful conversation on mentorship and employee volunteerism. Beach Pace, who leads our mission in Portland is a dynamic leader whose compassion and conviction is sparking positive change across the greater Portland community. More to come her and this amazing agency in an upcoming post! We both joined Big Brothers Big Sisters alum and board member Caitlin Sargent, Nike’s VP, North America Men’s Brand Marketing for an inspiring panel discussion hosted and broadcasted across their employee network. A rich conversation of the incredible influence and benefit that companies can make and receive when employees are engaged and empowered authentically. The discussion affirmed when you become involved with Big Brothers Big Sisters and mentoring you receive just as much impact on your life as you contribute to a young person. Thanks to Nike for hosting us on this beautiful and amazing campus but even more inspired by the commitment of its people to make positive change through mentorship. It is one step of many on how building a great national partnership with one of the world’s leading brands can create a bigger village for kids. Big ups to Felicia Turrentine Wasson, Karol Collymore and Jorge Casimiro for your leadership on Nike’s Black Community Commitment and Harvest Trammell Jr for such an inspiring campus tour! Proud to build with you all and this is what the village can look like when we all come together to empower young people. #biggertogether #ittakesavillage
