On Thursday, my best friend turned 30. Yesterday, he returned from Philly and we had a dinner on the roof surrounded by his chosen nyc family. Jake’s the best guy I’ve ever met. Ive been trying to make a carousel or reel or post some stories about the intensity in which I cherish this guy. Every attempt at posting something I was immediately overwhelmed. Which forever memory would best represent the accompanying words? And now, in the middle of his birthday weekend celebrations, I’m realizing I’m generally just overwhelmed by jake as a human... his heart.. his kindness... his zest for life... and the brotherhood we share. There are no words to properly describe what he means to me, but there’s no guy I love running life with more. I’m endlessly grateful to have crossed his path and all of the time I’ve gotten to share with him from strangers, to friends, to best friends, to brothers, and the only appropriate way to describe it now, is he’s a soulmate of mine.
